Can Christians have a little sin? What does Scripture say?

daytonstreetpreach

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.

1 Peter 4:18 Now“If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

Psalm 119:1-3 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! 2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! 3 They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways.

Isaiah 1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

1 John 1:6-7 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2: 3-4 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 3:6-10 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

Proverbs 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

1 John 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

John 8:34-36 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

1 Peter 2:21-22 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth.”

Ezekiel 18:4 “Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 5:5 The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. Psalm 7:11 God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psalm 11:5 The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

Revelation 21:27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

1 Peter 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

James 5:19-20 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Matthew 5:29-30 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

John 8:11 She said, “No one, Lord.”And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Matthew 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

These verses are used to try to say everyone is in sin. Don’t be deceived, only the righteous shall inherit the Kingdom of God. It is the truth that sets you free! And there is no salvation in lies, only a temporary false comfort, then destruction.

1 John 1:8 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (This verse is talking about people who come to God and say they have no sin. We know the Bible doesn’t contradict itself. And if this meant everyone is in sin the rest of 1 John would be a lie.)

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Past Tense- For all have sinned)

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (People use this verse to justify themselves in their lawlessness. But listen to what this verse is saying. It says sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Again,if you are in sin you are under the law. But if God gives you grace you are not under law because you have repented and are living in obedience. Grace is not a pass to sin,Grace is the power to overcome it.)

John 8:7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” (Christ knew these men who were accusing her were hypocrites. He wasn’t saying no one is without sin. He said, He is that without sin “among you”. And then He told her to go and sin no more.)

Romans 7:15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. (Paul is teaching about the powerlessness of someone in the flesh. Paul says in Romans 7:5. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. The rest of 7 is him explaining what it’s like when you are “in the flesh.” How can we prove it? Acts 23:1 “And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” The guy in Romans 7 was not in good conscience.)
